Pentedrone (also known asα-Methylamino-Valerophenone, MAVP, PD), acts as a designer drug with stimulant effects. It was found since 2010 as an ingredient in a number of “bath salt” mixes sold as legal highs. It acts as a reuptake inhibitor for dopamine and norepinephrine without causing release, the same mechanism of action as methylphenidate.
